Privacy Policy for Flow Search

Flow Search ("the App") is developed by Michael Conaway ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and how you can delete it.

Information We Collect

You can browse and search jobs without an account. If you sign in with Sign in with Apple, we receive and store:

• Name — your first and last name, if you choose to share it (or a name you set yourself in the app).
• Email address — either your real email or Apple's private relay address, depending on what you choose to share with Sign in with Apple.
• A unique account identifier — generated by our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication) to distinguish your account from others.

Once you have an account, you can choose to add:

• A profile photo — stored with your account.
• A contact email — an email address you enter in Personal Info, separate from your Apple ID email.
• A resume — the file you upload (for example a PDF or Word document) and its file name, stored with your account.
• Saved jobs — the details of each job listing you save (title, company, location, link, and similar posting details), so they sync across your devices.
• Applications — the jobs you tell the App you applied to (the same listing details), the stage you set for each (Applied, Interviewing, Offer or Rejected), and the dates. The App does not see or record anything you do on a job site; it only records what you confirm.

Information Kept Only on Your Device

• Search history — the words and places you search for, used to suggest searches. It never leaves your device and is not tied to your account.
• Saved searches — up to three searches you choose to keep. They stay on your device only.
• A copy of your resume — kept in the app's folder on your device (visible in the Files app under "On My iPhone" or "On My iPad") so you can attach it to job applications. It is removed when you sign out.
• Your settings — such as your Theme choice.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not access your device's location. Location search uses only the text you type, which is sent to a third-party geocoding service (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) to resolve it to a place — your device's GPS location is never read or shared.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. The App does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to operate the App's features: signing you in, syncing your saved jobs, applications, profile and resume across your devices, and showing them back to you. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, and storage for your account, profile, saved jobs, applications and resume. Like any internet service, it processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver these services.
• Sign in with Apple (Apple) — signing you in.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim — turns the location text you type, and the locations in job listings, into map coordinates for location filtering.
• Job sources — to show listings, the App retrieves publicly available job postings from Himalayas, Jobicy, Working Nomads, The Muse, Jobspresso, VibeCode Careers, and the public career boards of companies hosted on Ashby, Lever and Greenhouse. The search words you type may be sent to some of these services to find matching jobs; no account information is sent to them.

When you tap Apply, the job's page opens in an in-app browser (Safari). What you do on that page, including any application you submit, is governed by that employer's and website's own policies. The App does not send your resume anywhere on your behalf; you attach it yourself.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the App: Profile > Account > Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently erases your profile, profile photo, contact email, saved jobs, applications and uploaded resume, removes your authentication record, disconnects the App from your Apple ID, and clears the search history, saved searches and resume copy on your device. If you need help, or can't use the App, email us at michaelcon8@icloud.com and we will delete it within a reasonable time.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

Your data is protected in transit and at rest by our infrastructure provider's standard security practices, and access is restricted to your own authenticated account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this same address with an updated "Last updated" date above.
